In this workshop with sound artist Michael Steinhauser, we’ll create sound waves that AI has never heard before! We’ll test out some of the interactive stations in the “Music and AI” exhibition and learn amazing things about sound, rhythm, and algorithms (are they related, by any chance!?). Inspired by this, we’ll conduct electronic noise experiments—using so-called effects units and strange instruments like a theremin, which is played entirely without touch. Finally, we’ll digitally assemble our latest sound creations into an audio piece and amaze R2-D2.
